AI Connector
Use your own AI with your FlinnSchema account
Connect the AI app you already use to FlinnSchema. It can read your AI visibility data and make changes for you, once you have seen a preview and approved it.
What it is
FlinnSchema runs a server that speaks the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the standard AI apps use to talk to outside tools. You create an access token in your dashboard, add it to your AI app, and your AI can then answer questions about your site using your real data: “what should I fix first?”, “did ChatGPT mention us this week?”, “which pages have no schema?”.
It is a connection to your own account. It does not make AI assistants recommend your business; that is what the rest of FlinnSchema works on.

How changes are kept safe
Preview first, then confirm
The first request for any change only returns a preview and a one-time code. Nothing is changed. The change happens only when a second request sends back that code with exactly the same details, within 10 minutes. A changed request, a reused code or an expired code is refused.
You approve it in your AI app
Your AI app asks for your approval before it runs a tool that changes something. That prompt is the human check, so keep it switched on. We are plain about this: an AI app set to approve everything automatically can make both requests on its own.
You choose the access level
A token is either read only or read and make changes. A read-only token cannot change anything, whatever the AI is asked to do. You can revoke a token at any time and it stops working immediately.
Only your account
A token is tied to one FlinnSchema account. Your AI cannot ask for another customer's data, and it cannot delete your account, sites, posts or tokens, change your billing, or see passwords or store credentials. With change access it can replace the contents of a schema entry, which the preview shows before anything is saved.
Everything is logged
Every request your AI makes is recorded with the time, the tool and the result, and shown in your dashboard. Changes also have monthly limits per account (for example Run a fresh audit: 30, Update schema markup: 100).
Content from other websites is labelled
Some of your data comes from pages we crawled, competitor sites and AI answers. We mark that content as third-party so your AI treats it as information rather than instructions. No labelling scheme is a guarantee, which is one more reason to read the preview before approving a change.
Your AI provider sees what it reads
Whatever FlinnSchema sends to your AI app is processed by that app's provider under their terms. Connect only an AI app you already trust with your business data.
Which AI apps work today
| AI app | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Claude Code | Works today | One command in your terminal. |
| Cursor, VS Code | Works today | A few lines in the editor’s MCP settings file. |
| Claude Desktop | Works today | Through the mcp-remote bridge in its config file. Needs Node.js installed. |
| claude.ai (web and mobile) | Some accounts | Only if your account shows a “Request headers” section when adding a custom connector. Anthropic describes that as a limited beta, so many accounts do not have it yet. |
| ChatGPT | Not yet | Not yet. ChatGPT needs a sign-in flow that we are adding next. |
Setting it up
- Sign in and open AI Connector in your dashboard.
- Create a token. Pick read only, or read and make changes.
- Copy the token straight away. It is shown once.
- Add it to your AI app using the steps below.
Replace YOUR_TOKEN with a token you created above. We only show a token once, so if you no longer have it, revoke it and create a new one.
Run this once in your terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http flinnschema https://www.flinnschema.com/api/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_TOKEN"
Then start Claude Code and type /mcp to check that flinnschema shows as connected.
Which plan do I need?
A free account can create one read-only token and read its account details and score summary. Reading the full report and making changes is part of Premium. Current prices are on the pricing page.
