Transparency First
We believe you should know exactly what's being measured and why. Here's a complete breakdown of the 17 factors in our AI visibility audit, grouped by category.
Structured Data (23 points)
Schema Markup (12 pts)
We check for the presence and quality of JSON-LD structured data. This is the single most important factor because it's how AI engines understand your business at a machine level.
Schema Type Coverage (6 pts)
Having schema is good. Having the right types — Organization, Product, FAQ, Review — is better. We check which types are present and whether critical ones are missing.
FAQ Structured Data (5 pts)
FAQ schema gets its own factor because it's uniquely powerful for AI citations. We check both the presence of FAQ markup and whether it contains substantial Q&A content.
Trust & Authority (10 points)
Reviews & Trust Signals (10 pts)
We fetch real review data from Trustpilot, Google Reviews, Feefo, and Reviews.io. We check your rating, review count, and presence across platforms. AI engines strongly favour businesses with verified trust signals.
AI Readiness (14 points)
LLM Content Readability (9 pts)
We analyse your content structure, heading hierarchy, paragraph length, and information density. Content that's easy for LLMs to parse and summarise scores higher.
AI Crawler Access (5 pts)
We check your robots.txt for GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, GoogleOther, and Bytespider. Blocking these crawlers means AI engines can't index your content.
Technical SEO (25 points)
Meta tags, Open Graph, HTML quality, HTTPS, mobile viewport — these form the technical foundation. While they're traditional SEO factors, they also impact how AI systems assess your site's credibility and professionalism.
Content Quality (12 points)
Heading structure and content depth measure whether your pages contain enough substantive information for AI to work with. Thin pages with little content rarely get cited.
Discoverability (11 points)
Robots.txt, sitemap.xml, and internal linking determine how easily both traditional and AI crawlers can discover and navigate your content.
Performance (8 points)
Page size and load performance affect both user experience and crawler efficiency. Bloated pages that take seconds to load get penalised by AI systems that need to process millions of pages.
The 85% Cap
Our scoring goes to 100 but is capped at 85%. Why? Because some factors (like reviews) require real-world effort that can't be gamed. The cap keeps scores honest and gives every business room to grow.
